The kids are back to school! That can sometimes mean sore, achy backs from carrying heavy backpacks. Consider the following tips to keep your children’s backs in tip top shape:
~ Wear backpack resting evenly over the mid-back. It should not go below the low back.
~ Ensure both straps have the weight distributed evenly.
~ Ask school if textbooks are available online.
~ Consider using bags on wheels. There are lots of options available, including ones for small children.
~ Gently stretch lower back by lying on floor. Lie on stomach (face down) and place pillow under abdomen. This will help stretch out sore tired lower back muscles.
~ Consider acupuncture for back pain! It is safe and effective for children and adults alike!
